The Standard This is Built To
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA. No conformance claim is published here. Automated testing finds a little over half of accessibility problems by volume, so a clean report is evidence of work rather than proof, and it is better to show what was measured.
What Was Measured
Every page is loaded in a real browser at phone size and measured after layout, rather than checked by reading the source.
- Colour contrast on rendered pixels, against the 4.5 to 1 minimum for normal text.
- Pointer target size after layout, against the 24 by 24 pixel minimum.
- Keyboard navigation, driven by real Tab keypresses: every focus stop changes appearance when it receives focus, Tab always moves on, and nothing jumps the queue with a positive tab order.
- Reflow, so no page scrolls sideways in a 320 pixel wide window.
- Structure, so every page has one main landmark and one level one heading, in order.
Known Limits
The contact form is handled by a third party service, and parts of how it behaves are not fully under my control. If it gets in your way, call or text instead and nothing is lost.
If Something Does Not Work for You
Tell me and I will fix it. Call or text (386) 295-7747. You do not need to know the name of the standard or the name of the problem. "This page does not work for me" is a complete and useful report.
I aim to respond within two business days. If something here is stopping you from getting hold of me, call and I will do the whole thing over the phone.
